DJ J Star was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City with his family at the age of six. Raised in a musical household and immersed in the vibrant cultural scenes of Uptown Manhattan and The Bronx, he quickly developed a unique sound by blending genres like Hip Hop, House, Reggae, Salsa, Merengue, Rock, and more. This signature style made him a standout in his neighborhood and a rising figure in the local DJ scene from an early age.
 

J Star is a technically skilled DJ with a strong academic and professional background. He graduated from audio engineering school and soon after began internships at iconic radio stations such as Hot 97 and 103.5 KTU. In 2015, he was hired as an on-air mixer for iHeartRadio’s Power 105.1, one of the country’s leading radio stations. In 2018, he took the next step in his career by joining Pitbull’s Sirius XM station (Channel 13), where he now hosts his globally recognized weekly show.
 

Throughout his career, DJ J Star has collaborated with major global brands including the NBA, Adidas, Nike, HBO, Dropbox, JBL, and Jack Daniel’s—cementing his reputation as a key figure in entertainment, culture, and brand partnerships.
