King's Speech wins the Oscars; the King's wink; the unsung ballerina

A "humble" Colin Firth took Best Actor, Tom Hooper took best Director; David Seidler took best screenplay; and the film took best picture. Hooper revealed the woman behind the film's inception.

A charming story:the King's wink.

The Telegraph reveals that former Royal Ballet star Georgina Parkinson, who became the long-time ballet mistress of the American Ballet Theatre, trained Natalie Portman for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan. Parkinson died before the film was released. The Telegraph also reveals the investors who believed enough in the King's Speech to put up the money after the BBC and Channel 4 had turned the script down.
