A statue will be unveiled in Grosvenor Square on July 4th to celebrate the man who 'won the Cold War. . .without firing a shot' (Margaret Thatcher) and who defended liberty and economic prosperity from big government. Reagan would be 100 this year.

Almost blind without glasses when he was a boy, shy and bullied on the playground, Ronald Reagan was abandoned by his alcoholic father. At eleven he read a book and decided he would become a Christian and a hero. Ten years later, he had become a lifeguard and saved 77 people from drowning. He went on to become Governor of California and US President.

With Margaret Thatcher at his side, Ronald Reagan fought against tyranny.

He loved Britain because he loved heroes.
