Yesterday, The Queen reviewed the annual Queen's Scouts Parade at Windsor Castle. 2007 marks the centenary of the Scout movement, which continues to inspire young boys and girls in over thirty countries.

It was founded by Robert Baden-Powell, best known for leading outnumbered soldiers and civilians in withstanding the 217-day siege of Mafeking. Influenced by the courage of the young cadets during the siege and subsequently encouraged by Edward VII, he founded a worldwide scouting movement that inspires teamwork, courage and outdoor skills.
