Nottingham scientist perfects anti-aging skin cream

A frequent request from women at the doctor’s surgery is for the elixir of youth, a face cream that will turn back the clock. Some prescription drugs will help, but it is widely accepted that the expensive over-the-counter remedies are not effective. However, the Sunday Telegraph reports that the BBC 2 Horizon Programme investigated a number of these creams, which are sold around the world, and found that Boots’ Number 7 Protect and Perfect serum actually did some good.

The scientist behind the success is Steve Barton of Nottingham, who led a 20-person team in perfecting the serum, which contains silicone, antioxidants, lypo-pentapeptide, and an extract from the white lupin flower. I would test the serum myself, but, as you might have guessed, it’s sold out.
